Through studying Science and Technology students explore scientific and technological concepts and gain knowledge and understanding of the world. They develop skills in conducting scientific investigations and designing and producing solutions through learning about the Living World, Material World, Physical World, Earth and Space, and Digital Technologies.

At St Joseph’s the students are engaged in formal Science and Technology lessons as well as a whole school approach to STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Mathematics). The STEAM challenges, along with Science and Technology lessons provide students with opportunities to make predictions, conduct fair tests, problem solve, pose testable questions, engage with a wide variety of tools and technologies including Edison robots, Animation tools, iPads and laptops. We offer a Gifted and Talented program for identified students.
